Metabolic Health Australia (“we”, “us”) is operated by Vuhze Technologies. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.
Who this applies to
- Patients and visitors who browse the directory, use our tools, or send an enquiry or appointment request to a clinic or specialist.
- Clinics, practitioners and their staff who are listed in the directory, claim or manage a listing, or subscribe to a paid plan.
What we collect
- Enquiries and appointment requests: your name, email, phone number, suburb or postcode, and anything you choose to write in your message. A message may include health information — please share only what the clinic needs to respond.
- Contact form messages: your name, email, organisation and message.
- Listings: practice and practitioner details such as name, address, phone, email, website, opening hours, services and professional details. Much of this is collected from publicly available sources, including practice websites and online business directories.
- Accounts: if you claim or register a listing, your name, role, email, phone and login details, plus records of changes you make.
- Payments: paid plans are billed by Stripe. We receive your billing name, email and subscription status; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Usage information: pages viewed, searches, the suburb you search from, and technical information such as browser type, collected to run and improve the site.
How we use it
- To pass your enquiry or appointment request to the clinic or specialist you chose.
- To publish and maintain accurate directory listings.
- To verify listing claims and provide account, dashboard and billing services.
- To contact practices about their listing. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and we stop contacting addresses that opt out.
- To respond to messages, prevent spam and abuse, and keep the site secure.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell personal information.
Health information
We only collect health information when you choose to include it in an enquiry, and we use it only to deliver that enquiry to the provider you selected. By sending an enquiry you consent to us passing its contents to that provider. Metabolic Health Australia is a directory and information service — we do not provide medical care, and we are not part of your treating team.
Who we share it with
- The clinic or specialist you contact, who will handle your information under their own privacy obligations.
- Service providers that run the site for us: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Supabase (database and file storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery) and Google (reCAPTCHA spam protection and maps).
- Anyone we are required or authorised to disclose to by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and spam protection
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects device and usage information to tell people from bots and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Security and retention
Information is stored with reputable providers using encryption in transit and access controls. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to remove a listing about you. Listed practices can also update their details by claiming their listing. Email contact@metabolichealthaustralia.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
